Seasons Holidays Clowance Triumphs Over the Snow

The recent appalling weather conditions were so extreme that they were bound to be the subject of at least one of our stories in this edition. In this case, Anne and Tom Read of Wallington, Surrey, commented most enthusiastically on how well the staff at Clowance coped with the situation – in snow and temperatures so low as to be almost unheard of in normally mild Cornwall!

'Michelle Kirk and her Team were magnificent in keeping the facilities going whilst we were all snowed in - Michelle worked from morning to night making sure that all of us were O.K. and taking care of her staff, whilst ensuring that the Estate did not grind to a halt. The shop and restaurant were excellent in providing us with food and essentials when we were unable to leave the resort due to extreme snow and ice. The restaurant/bar was the best we have sampled throughout the resorts. A brilliant chef/ chefs and restaurant/bar staff.

'We, a family of 10 in two units, booked from Wednesday to Wednesday, had a telephone call from Michelle warning us on the day of departure that it was too dangerous to travel and that we could be accommodated for the next night and review the situation daily. This she did and updated us each morning until we finally left on Friday. What a treasure this person is and what an asset to Seasons. We cannot stress our appreciation and thanks to her.'

Resort Manager Michelle Kirk wrote to say: ‘As well as the Read family who wrote our glowing report, we have some pictures of the four Mackenzie boys who stayed with us for Christmas and New Year and then got snowed in on the day they were meant to be going home ! The two youngest are shown on this picture and their
brother Luke thought he might like to stay here forever!’
