Wonderful Break Seasons Holidays County Hotel, Bath

Resort:

After a longish drive from North Yorkshire to Seasons Holidays County Hotel, Bath, it was refreshing to be greeted by Erin in such a genuine friendly manner. The hotel was having some essential work on the building which necessitated scaffolding all around, and although this slightly impeded our view, it was acceptable under the circumstances. In fact it turned out as a bonus when the following morning we opened the curtains to four workmen who gave us an impromtu performance of River Dance for us on the makeshift stage in front of our window.

We would recommend watching City TV before venturing out as this is an excellent guide to the delights of Bath and nearby places. Next, take the two open top tours. One covers the city centre and the other goes into the outskirts. It's one price for the two, the ticket covers 24 hours and you get on and off when you like.

The Roman Baths is a must as is the Abbey. Sally Lunn's and the Jane Austen centre are worth visiting. You can't help to cross the marvellous Poultney Bridge with its little shops. This is only one of three bridges of this style of construction; the other two are in Venice and Florence.

If you like Jamie Oliver, that could prove a special in his restaurant. But virtually all the worlds countries are represented so you will not be disappointed no matter where you choose.

And talking about eating, The County provides an excellent breakfast in a lovely period room. Lilly, who is in charge treats everyone as special with wonderful smiles to start your day.

On our last day, our four 'dancers' were on the stage again. This time they wanted to perform the 'Full Monty.' But we hadn't had breakfast and in the interests of safety I felt they should keep there hard hats on their heads. I left the bedroom, but my wife said she had to stay to write a postcard! She did have a smile on her face all day, so obviously she had enjoyed the sights of Bath.
