Laugharne, pronounced 'Larn' Park is the perfect location to experience peace and tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of everyday modern life. Laugharne boasts some of the most picturesque views of the sweeping River Taf estuary, over part of the glorious bay of Carmarthen and all the way down to the North Devon coast. Beneath you are the green, shaded glades of Milk Wood – made famous in the famous works of one of Wales' most remarkable sons, Dylan Thomas.
Many know Laugharne for being the home to Dylan Thomas in the later part of his life. Originally from Swansea he moved to Laugharne in 1938 where he wrote many of his best works. The Boathouse, Dylan’s main home in Laugharne is now a museum dedicated to his life and works. The Resort Laugharne Park spreads across 40 breathtaking acres, originally an Iron Age settlement, but in the 18th Century became a country house and estate. Laugharne has now been developed into a luxury holiday resort in one of the UK's most wonderful locations. Laugharne Park has every comfort and convenience and boasts a wide range of facilities in and around the clubhouse. The Severn Bridges and the M4, with connecting dual carriageways all the way to St. Clears make the trip | to Laugharne very simple, yet the village and park remain very much in undamaged countryside.
Accommodation The luxury accommodation at Laugharne Park includes of a choice of studios, one bed, two bed and three bed lodges. As with all Seasons resorts, all units are fully equipped for self-catering, including fitted kitchens, bed linen, towels, glassware, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and a wide range of kitchen appliances. Radio/cassette/CD players, televisions and VCR/DVD players are supplied. Some of the larger lodges provide either washing machines or dishwashers. The Area Founded as a Roman station prior to the Norman Conquest, Laugharne is one of only two towns that have kept their ancient charter, granted by Guy de Brian in the 14th century. The surrounding Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire countryside offers marvellous opportunity for walking, horse riding, fishing, golf and there are many historic castles and museums, as well as lots of attractions, certain to entertain every member of the family. Nearby attractions include Laugharne Castle situated just one mile away - standing on the waterfront overlooking the picturesque Taf estuary. For the kids – Oakwood theme park is 20 minutes away and boasts Wales' largest roller coaster. Other attractions well worth a visit include Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, Kidwelly Castle and Folly Farm. |
